      Electronic Hobbyist Meetup

      You love to take stuff apart. The thrill of discovery drives you to do it. You can see what's broken and somehow know how to fix it. Professionally educated, self-taught, or a little of both; you are a hacker, a dreamer, a hobbyist, an inventor, a maker, and even a scientist. Put down that soldering iron for a few hours — step out of your cubical, garage, basement, or bedroom — and join us for demos and discussions with other electronics professionals, students, enthusiasts, and hackers that have an interest in learning and making things.

      Every good hacker needs to know how to solder! Soldering is a fundamental skill for any sort of electronics work, and this class will teach you how to safely solder components onto a circuit board. When you're done, you'll have some experience and a cool blinky light toy to take home.

      Calling all crafters! Grab your needles (or hooks) and join us for an evening at the hackerspace with friends who knit, embroider, or crochet. This is an open group to all crafty wine lovers.       Learn the fine art of picking locks! We'll have a couple lock picking kits and practice locks available to tinker with. This is a completely legal event, and we abide by two rules:

      1. Never pick a lock that you do not own or have permission to pick.
      2. Never pick a lock that is in use or that you depend on.
