Why should you become a member?
We're a space full of friendly, helpful people who like building cool things. We'd love for you to join us.
Not everyone has – or can afford – the tools that we have at the hackerspace. Sharing resources makes it easy to build the things you want to build.
On average, we host an event of some kind about every three days. Check out the calendar and come join us!
Members and growing
Our members are the lifeblood of our space. Will you join this amazing community and build something awesome?
Through workshops, meetups, and other programs, we have taught hundreds of people skills like soldering, basic coding, and more.
History of RAHS
Root Access Hackerspace was founded in June 2017 by Derek Payton and Andrew Runner. The goal was to fill a gap in Fresno's technology scene, and provide a place for folks to work on projects, learn, and share. Within three days, having told only a handful of people people, over $13,000 was donated to help get the space off the ground.
RAHS officially opened in August 2017 inside a 2,700ft² space in the Tower District, with nothing more than some plastic folding tables and a small assortment of tools. Today we have diverse tool set, including 3D printers, a laser cutter, electronics workstation, wood shop, textile arts and crafting studio, and a whole lot more. We host tons of events, including workshops and several meetups, and we're now at 48 members and growing!
